Our 8th Year

A special thanks to those who joined us for another unforgettable weekend of 100 years of significant vehicles and fun for the whole family on a magnificent late Summer day in Southern New England! Through a combination of exciting events on Saturday and Sunday and Bonhams Auction, we surpassed all expectations for a fantastic event.

Riding on the success of our 2004-2010 events, the Fairfield County Concours d'Elegance returned with more than 200 of the world's most extraordinary classic automobiles and rare motorcycles at our venue, The Fairfield County Hunt Club in Westport, Connecticut, with specific events scheduled for Saturday, September 17 and Sunday, September 18, 2011.

The 2011 Concours event included a selection of antique cars, sports cars, racing and touring cars, vintage American and European cars, and rare motorcycles. Our Special Exhibits included:

Chrysler Hemi-powered vehicles Formula 1 race cars and CCCA Winners from Saturday

Saturday featured a Celebration of Car and Motorcycle Clubs with numerous invited Clubs exhibiting their members' vehicles. We also featured seminars and demonstrations of various aspects of vehicle restoration and show preparation and vehicle valuation.

The Grand Classic competition sponsored by the Metro NY and New England Chapters of the Classic Car Club of America presented more than 40  Classic Vehicles will compete to earn the prestigious 100 point designation based on the very strenuous judging criteria of the CCCA.

Saturday's Nutmeg Tour for Autism was an approximately 65-mile tour through lower Fairfield County with several media and other stops where spectators could view the touring vehicles. The tour departed from Hall-Brooke at noon and returned to the Hunt Club at approximately 4PM for the Toast the Tour Charity Fundraiser Reception. The Tour route included driving through scenic Southport, up the winding Fairfield County back roads to New Town with a stop at The Putnam State Park in Redding.  From there, the tour wandered through downtown Ridgefield, through New Canaan and back to the new Dragone's Classic Cars Showroom in Westport for light refreshments. After a brief stop, the Tour assembled and was lead down Main Street back to the Hunt Club by a Westport Police Motorcycle escort.

The Tour  culminated with our Toast the Tour  Reception at the Hunt Club.  The Tour vehicles assembled in front of the club house for a Champagne Toast followed by our fundraiser reception.  Proceeds of the evening’s event benefit The Drive to Treat Autism Fund supporting diagnostic and treatment services for children and adolescents with developmental and Autism Spectrum Disorders.

Saturday featured Bonhams Auction preview as they return for their second year at our event.

Sunday is our Concours day. Special Exhibits will include Formula 1 Racing, Chrysler Hemi-powered vehicles and CCCA 100 Point winners from Saturday. Click here for more information.

Featured on-field judging classes include Porsche, E-Type Jaguar (celebrating 50 years), Woodies and Pre-War Preservation Vehicles. Click here for more information.

Sunday is also the day for Bonhams memorabilia and vehicle auctions.

In addition, each vehicle on display has a descriptive "car card" that tells our guests what makes this particular vehicle notable. Data could include rarity, provenance (who has owned it, where has it raced and so on) and historical importance.

The Art & Automobilia exhibition, was open from Saturday through the Concours on Sunday, highlights our featured artist, Peter Egan. The Art & Automobilia expo will feature numerous vendors of automotive collectibles. Click here for more information.

We showcased the work of local and regional artists in the Art & Automobilia tent on Sunday. As always, we presented several activities for children (in the Town Green Tent) to make their attendance at the Concours exciting for them and a pleasure for their parents.
