Our 8th Year
 A special thanks to
those who joined us for another unforgettable weekend of 100 years of significant vehicles and fun for the whole family
on a magnificent late Summer day in Southern New England! Through a combination
of exciting events on Saturday and Sunday and Bonhams Auction, we surpassed all
expectations for a fantastic event.
Riding on the success of our 2004-2010 events, the Fairfield County Concours d'Elegance returned with more than 200 of the world's most extraordinary classic automobiles and rare motorcycles at our venue, The Fairfield County Hunt Club in Westport, Connecticut,
with specific events scheduled for Saturday, September 17 and Sunday, September 18,
2011.
The 2011 Concours event included a selection of antique cars, sports cars, racing and touring cars, vintage American and European cars, and rare motorcycles.
Our Special Exhibits included:Chrysler Hemi-powered vehicles Formula 1 race
cars and CCCA Winners from Saturday
Saturday featured a Celebration of Car and Motorcycle Clubs with numerous
invited Clubs exhibiting their members' vehicles. We also featured seminars and demonstrations of various aspects of vehicle restoration and show preparation
and vehicle valuation.
The Grand Classic competition sponsored by the Metro
NY and New England Chapters of the Classic Car Club of America presented more
than 40 Classic Vehicles will compete to earn the prestigious 100 point designation
based on the very strenuous judging criteria of the CCCA.
Saturday's
was an approximately 65-mile tour through lower Fairfield County with several
media and other stops where spectators could view the touring vehicles. The tour
departed from Hall-Brooke at noon and returned to the Hunt Club at
approximately 4PM for the Toast the Tour Charity Fundraiser Reception. The Tour
route included driving through scenic Southport, up the winding Fairfield
County back roads to New Town with a stop at The Putnam State Park in Redding.
From there, the tour wandered through downtown Ridgefield, through New Canaan
and back to the new Dragone's Classic Cars Showroom in Westport for light
refreshments. After a brief stop, the Tour assembled and was lead down Main
Street back to the Hunt Club by a Westport Police Motorcycle escort.
The Tour culminated with our Reception at the
Hunt Club. The Tour vehicles assembled in front of the club house for a
Champagne Toast followed by our fundraiser reception. Proceeds of the evening’s event
benefit The Drive to Treat Autism Fund supporting diagnostic and treatment
services for children and adolescents with developmental and Autism Spectrum Disorders.
Saturday featured Bonhams Auction preview as they return for their
second year at our event.
Sunday is our Concours day. Special Exhibits
will include Formula 1 Racing,
Chrysler Hemi-powered vehicles and CCCA 100 Point winners from Saturday.

Featured on-field judging classes include Porsche, E-Type Jaguar (celebrating
50 years), Woodies and Pre-War Preservation Vehicles.

Sunday is also the day for Bonhams memorabilia and vehicle auctions.
In addition, each vehicle on display has a descriptive "car card" that tells our guests what makes this particular vehicle notable. Data could include rarity, provenance (who has owned it, where has it raced and so on) and historical importance.
The Art & Automobilia exhibition, was open from Saturday through the
Concours on Sunday, highlights our featured artist,. The
Art & Automobilia expo will feature numerous vendors of automotive collectibles.

We showcased the work of local and regional artists in the Art & Automobilia
tent on Sunday. As always, we presented several activities for children (in the Town Green Tent) to make their attendance at the Concours exciting for them and a pleasure for their parents.
