There will be numerous specific media opportunities during the two days of the Fairfield Concours.

As event days draw closer, we will add specific information to assist you in being at the right place at the right time.

Saturday, September 11, 2010

Nutmeg Tour for Autism
This year, the Nutmeg Tour will depart from the Hall-Brooke facility on Long Lots Road after a participant's breakfast at approximately 9:30am.

Toru route to be announced.

At approximately 4pm, the vehicles will return to the Hunt Club grounds for the Toast the Tour Reception - a fundraiser for The Drive to Treat Autism Fund.

Car & Motorcycle Club Celebration
Clubs from across the country will be invited to participate in our Saturday Car Club  Celebration.  They will have the opportunity for club meetings, to attend our Seminars and Demonstrations and  there will be a peer judging of the cars brought by the clubs.

Seminars and Demonstrations
We will provide three seminars on the topics of vehicle restoration and preparation for showing.

Art & Automobilia
From 10am to 4pm each day, Art & Automobilia Expo will be open. Our featured artist is TBA. We will also have several notable local and regional artists and vendors of automotive collectibles.

Toast the Tour Reception
Following the tour will be our Gala Reception including a brief talk by our featured celebrity guest and awarding of our Fairfield County Concours d'Elegance Share the Passion Award to individuals who have been instrumental in dvancing the art of collecting rare and significant motor vehicles.

Bonhams Auction Preview
Throughout the day, memorabilia and vehicles in the Nonhams Auction will be available for preview and inspection. At 5:30PM, Bonhams will hold their Preview Reception. Entrance is by tickets from Bonhams or a Concours Toast the Tour ticket.

Vehicles will be arriving on the show field  between 7am and 9am. We will arrange specific media opportunities to talk with vehicle owners, and our celebrities.

The Concours field opens to the public at 10am.

One of our features is the Guided Field Walks with the Experts at 11am and 12:30pm.

Another special feature of our Concours that always draws a crowd is our Children's Center with specific activities to involve young people in our event.

At noon - we have the entire field "start their engines". It is an impressive sound and feeling.

Bonhams Auction

At 10 AM, the Bonhams Automobilia Auction will begin. At Noon, the Bonhams Motor Car Auction will begin. Entry is by Bonhams catalog available from Bonhams.

Special Exhibits
This year, these include "Styled by the Wind", a celebration of automobile aerodynamics, Coachworks by Howard "Dutch" Darrin featuring five special Packards from the collection of Ralph Marano, a celebration of cars of the 24 Hours of LeMans, and Hot Rods & Customs of the 50's - a celebration of the glory days of custom car building.

Featured Judging Classes
This year, we will feature competition in four featured classes: Porsche, Bugatti celebrating its 100th year, Aston Martin, FIVA Preservation and Barn Finds (judged by balloting of the Concours guests).
