Dear Subscriber,
As the first major Concours to celebrate Barn Finds, we are pleased to announce that it is returning by popular demand, the Search Is On for the 2011 Barn Find.
A Barn Find is "A vehicle that has been previously unknown, or known and unattainable, or discovered through obscure means, all with a great story," according to Tom Cotter, author of "The Cobra in the Barn," "The Hemi in the Barn," "The Vincent in the Barn" and "The Corvette in the Barn"; Co-chair Amelia Island Concours; Fairfield County Concours d'Elegance Advisory Committee Member and Chairman, Fairfield County Concours d'Elegance Barn Find Committee.
The Concours is once again asking America to join the search. Eligible vehicles may have already been "discovered" and dragged out of storage, but must not be substantially changed from the condition in which they were found. We are sure that in our second year, the nationwide search will yield a bumper crop of discoveries with fascinating stories.
For 2011, we are adding a separate competition for motorcycles. There will be first and second place awards for both autos and motorcycles. Winners are selected by popular vote from those attending the Cooncours. The winning motorcycle will be featured in Tom Cotter's upcoming book on Motorcycle Barn Finds.
We are also proud to announce that Bring A Trailer.com will be our Presenting Sponsor for the Barn Find class.
Randy Nonnenberg, Bringatrailer.com's Editor-in-Chief, said "We at Bring A Trailer are excited to partner with the 2011 Fairfield County Concours d'Elegance for the promotion of their people's choice Barn Find class. Our website specializes in discovering and featuring the best classics for sale, and our barn find features tend to stir more excitement than any others. We look forward to bringing that energy and excitement to the event this year, and can't wait to see what hidden cars are discovered in the coming months."
