Dear Subcriber,
The E-Type Jaguar (more commonly known in the US as the XKE) celebrates its 50th anniversary in 2011. Arguably one of the most iconic sports cars of the '60s and '70s, the E-Type is a highly desired collectible today. It was highly successful for Jaguar with 70,000 examples produced between 1961 and 1975.
Following on the success and popularity of its Pontiac search in 2009, the Concours is announcing a similar search for its 2011 event held September 17-18 at the Fairfield County Hunt Club in Westport, CT.
"We have always had several remarkable E-Type Jaguars in our show field each year," said Bill Scheffler, CEO and Co-Founder. "To celebrate the 50th year since its introduction, we decided to make the car one of our featured judging classes for 2011."
Shown are two examples of E-Types from the 2010 Concours and the timeless beauty of their styling.
To add to the interest and excitement of the class, the Concours is initiating a search for two specific E-Types: 1. The lowest chassis serial number vehicle in private ownership 2. The longest ownership by the same, private owner
Each will be specially recognized at the 2011 Concours.
Vehicle owners interested in submitting their E-Types for consideration should go to www.fairfieldcountyconcours.com/enter.html
Please include two exterior photos of any vehicle submitted, a ¾ front view and a side view, and tell us the story behind your E-Type.
