Dear Subscriber,

Vehicle entry Applications are now available online on our website.

For 2011, we require at least two photos of your vehicle as part of your submission - one a 3/4 front shot and the other a side shot.

Applications for participation on the judging field or in one of our special exhibits will be accepted until June 15, 2011.  You will be notified via email or postal mail if your submission has been accepted for the field, a featured judging class or one of our special exhibits.

Featured Judging Classes are: Porsche, E-Type Jaguar, Woodies and Pre-war Preservation.

Special Exhibits are: Formula 1, Isotta Fraschini, Chrysler Hemi-powered vehicles and Classic Car Club of America 100 Point Winners from Saturday's Grand Classic.

2011 Judging Procedures
Each vehicle entered into the main field or featured class at the Fairfield County Concours d'Elegance is eligible to win awards of four various types.

In addition to the popular choice 'peer judged' class awards the entrants vote on in their respective classes, the Hagerty's Youth Judges choices and the People's Choice award, the Fairfield County Concours d'Elegance has a panel of judges noted for their experience and expertise in the collector car and motorcycle world who are responsible for the awarding of special awards.

This panel uses "French style" subjective judging. The vehicles on display are considered for awards on the basis of significance, style, originality, presentation and condition - in that order.

The guidelines they use in reviewing vehicles for the major weight of the score, the Subjective Evaluation, are as follows:
  1. Historic significance
  2. Innovation
  3. Timeless style
  4. Originality
  5. Provenance
  6. Visual appeal
  7. Suitability of color scheme

A bonus is given in the judging in case of a tie between cars in a class to those which have participated in the Tour for Autism.

YouTube Videos
We have posted several videos from YouTube about our Concours.  See what our guests have recorded and posted.  In 1942, the very first Concours was held at the Fairfield County Hunt Club. Watch some very interesting old film footage. Click here to go to our website Video Gallery.
