Dear Subscriber,

Issue two brings some exciting news and new sponsors. The Packards are coming!  We will feature a special exhibit of six Packard Concept vehicles - never before shown on the same field at the same time. And, much more news!
The Packards are Coming
For the first time in Concours or any car show history, seven Packard concept vehicles will be shown on the same field.  Thanks to the generosity of Mr. Ralph Marano (NJ), our special exhibit will feature:
1948 Packard Vignale,
1952 Packard Pan American,
1952 Packard Special "Macauley Speedster",
1953 Packard Balboa-X,
1954 Packard Panther Daytona, and
 1955 Packard Request.

Special thanks to the Studebaker National Museum in South Bend, IN for sending the
1956 Packard Predictor.

This will be the first time that all of these very special Packards will be shown together.
The Next Steps Developmental Center
AIND/Giant Steps and Hall-Brooke Behavioral Health Services, a wholly owned subsidiary of St. Vincent's Health Services, have created The Next Steps Developmental Center. Its mission is to provide integrated, transdisciplinary diagnosis and treatment as well as continued opportunities for social and cognitive development for children and adults with Autism Spectrum Disorders.

The Concours raised more than $60,000 in 2008 to support  their development of programs for the diagnosis and treatment of Autism Spectrum Disorders.

Proceeds from the 2009 Concours support the center through The Drive to Treat Autism Fund.

If you would like to make an additional contribution to its success, please go to our web site and make a contribution from the Purchase Tickets page.

Thanks for your support.
Hagerty Youth Judges
The Hagerty Youth Judges Program will be part of this year's Concours as it was last year.  In 2008, Hagerty Insurance debuted its Youth Judging Program at our Concours. Youngsters between the ages of 8 and 16 are invited to shadow adult judges and participate in choosing and presenting the Youth Judges Award.

If you know a child, who would like to participate - please fill out an application form and mail it in to us.

Packard Motor Car Serivce
Packard Motor Car Service, Inc. has restored and serviced antique and special interest automobiles since 1979. As our name implies, the vast majority of these classic cars have been senior Packards, especially from 1930 to 1939, however, we have always catered to owners of other marques from Austins to Zephyrs.  Occupying 26,000 sq. ft. of specialized space, the shop in South Windsor, CT, houses full, completely in-house facilities for all aspects of restoration from machine shop, coach and paint shop, and woodworking shop, to efficiently restore the earliest classics to the latest in special interest cars. "My interest in Packards grew from having one for basic transportation in college into a hobby, a part-time side venture, and then by 1984, into a full-time profession," says John Scales, Owner.  Packard Motor Car Services is sponsoring the Packard Concept Car exhibit.   Packard Motor Car Services is sponsoring the Packard Concept Car exhibit.
