Dear Subscriber,

If you came to our 6th anniversary event, we are sure you will agree that it was by far and away our best yet.  The special exhibits were phenomenal, the featured judging classes provide truly remarkable vehicles for our judges to ponder over and the show field was our most spectacular.

Below are a few summary stories about 2009. More can be found on our web site.

Our 2010 dates have been set - September 11-12, 2010.  See you there!

And the 2009 Concours Winners are:
Our judges agonized over the selection of this year's Grand Prix d'Honneur Winners because of the outstanding show field.

When they had finished their deliberations, two vehicles clearly stood out from the rest.

The 1933 Duesenberg SJ Beverly of Joseph & Margie Cassini was the Domestic winner and the 1938 Alfa Romeo 6C2300 of Oscar Davis was the Foreign winner.

Our guests were treated to a fantastic array of vintage and classic automobiles and remarkable motorcycles.  The Special Exhibits of the Packard Concept vehicles from Ralph Marano's Collection was truly an example of bygone American automotive excellence.  The Studebaker National Museum's loan of the 1956 Predictor completed the exhibit.  The ALfa Romeo Featured Judging Class went from the Grand Prix winner of Oscar Davis to the very special 2008 BAT 11dk and a 2008 8C Competizione.

We thank the owners of the cars of The Meadow Brook Concours d'Elegance for showing their amazing vehicles at our Concours.

The race cars of Bridgehampton Race Circuit provided a visual history of one of America's premier race venues that is unfortunately no longer in use.

Our other featured Judging Classes of Porsche, Packard and Pontiac showed a significant range of vehicles exemplifying each marque.
Club Day is a Success.
Our first Car & Motorcycle Celebration Day was an overwhelming success.  Six regional clubs representing Aston-Martin, Porsche, Mercedes-Benz, Cadillac-LaSalle, Ferrari and Maserati attended our inaugural event.  After holding club meetings, they enjoyed seminars by:
  • Kent Bain - Automotive Restorations, Inc., "Keys to a Happy Hobby"
  • Miles Morris, Morris & Welford, "FIVA"
  • Mike Odierna, Auto Concierge, "Ultimate Detailing"
  • Dave Kinney, Hagerty Cars That Matter, "Valuing Vehicles"
  • Michael Alan Ross, "Automotive Photography"
Each club selected one of their vehicles as the "Best of the Club" to be exhibited at the Sunday Concours.

Two of the vehicles from the Porsche Club Day entrants won awards at the Concours.

Craig Busch - 1956 Speedster
People's Choice Award, Sponsored by FedEx Custom Critical, and
Second - Porsche Judging Class

Ernst Benzien - 1964 904

Nutmeg Tour for Autism & d'Elegance Reception

Despite starting the day with a light drizzle, the Tour lead 30+ vehicles from Sunday's Concours field through another of Rich Taylor's circuitous routes through the back roads of lower Fairfield county.  Participants left the Westport Campus of St. Vincent's Health Care after a light breakfast.

Stops this year included: The 58th Annual AACA/HCCA Car Show at the Redding Historical Society, The Aldrich Contemporary Art Museum in Ridgefield for lunch provided by Chez Lenard and Bruce Bennetts Nissan in Wilton.

The Tour then returned to the Hunt Club for the d'Elegance Reception and Preview.  This year's Sharing the Passion awardees were: Ralph Marano and The Family of Felix Callari.
Our personal thanks to all of you who were able to attend this year's Concours.  We hope that you enjoyed attending as much as we did putting on our event for you.  Next year's planning is already underway and we hope to bring you an even more spectacular Concours.  For more detail on each of the stories above and many more photographs, please go to our website.
